Drones banned in Geneva ahead of John Kerry’s Visit

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Mini drones – those pesky remote control operated mini-helicopters – will not be allowed to fly over Geneva from 28 to 31 March during US Secretary John Kerry’s visit.

Kerry is returning to Geneva to head negotiations of the P5+1 group currently discussing Iran’s nuclear program.

The Geneva Department of Security and Economy will not allow drones to be flown over Pregny-Chambésy, Grand-Saconnex, Genève rive-droite, la Jonction, Plainpalais, Vieille-Ville and Eaux-Vives, starting 28 March.

Any unmanned aircraft that flies over any of the no-fly zones will be confiscated and the operator fined.
