Zurich Museum of Toys
The Zurich Museum of Toys counts more than 1,200 unique old and modern toys from all over Europe. The oldest ones were made more than 200 years ago. Here you can see antique tin soldiers, handmade dolls, miniature railways and steam engines, spinning tops, wooden toys, gaming furniture and much more. Admission for children is free.
The Zoological Museum at the University of Zurich is a must. The museum’s collection counts more than 1,500 pieces of stuffed animals and skeletons including extinct mammoths and dinosaurs displayed. In addition, children can study insects and arachnids under a microscope, see and listen to about 300 different birds. The museum is free and open every weekday.
Meet the magic of the cosmos at the Urania Observatory. Here you will be able to take a closer look at the moon, stars, planets and other universe galaxies with the large telescope with 600 times magnification and learn many interesting facts about them. Free tours in German are available on the first Saturday of the month.
Zurich cable car
To enjoy a breathtaking view of the city, Lake Zurich and the Swiss Alps have a family trip on a cable car to Felsenegg’s vantage point. The tour is about 15 minutes. From the Felsenegg observation deck you can go to a cafe where delicious cakes and drinks are served.
